What Is the Immigration Medical Exam (I-693)?

The immigration medical exam is a required part of the U.S. immigration process for certain applicants. The exam is documented on USCIS Form I-693 and must be completed by an authorized medical provider.

The purpose of the exam is to:

  • Review medical history

  • Perform a physical examination

  • Verify required vaccinations

  • Complete and seal Form I-693 for USCIS submission

Two-Day Appointment Process

This process involves a two-day appointment schedule to ensure all USCIS requirements are met accurately.

Day 1 Appointment

For your first appointment, please bring the following:

  • Completed Form I-693 (Part 1 only) — do not sign the form

  • A valid government-issued photo ID (unexpired passport, ID card, or driver’s license)

  • Immunization records with an official English translation (if available)

  • Payment, required at the time of the first visit (cash or credit card accepted)

  • An interpreter proficient in English (if needed)

  • A list of your current medications

During Day 1, required laboratory testing will be ordered or completed as part of the immigration exam process.

Day 2 Appointment (7–10 Days After Day 1)

Once all required laboratory results and documentation are reviewed and complete, you will return for Day 2.

During this visit:

  • You will complete your physical examination with Dr. Brito

  • Your Form I-693 will be completed, signed, and sealed

  • You will receive a ready-to-submit immigration medical packet for USCIS

 

Please note: Day 2 appointments are scheduled after all required lab results are available.​​

What’s Included in the Exam

Your immigration medical exam may include:

  • Review of medical history

  • Physical examination

  • Tuberculosis (TB) screening

  • Required lab testing

  • Review of vaccination status

  • Completion and sealing of Form I-693

 

Completed forms are provided in a sealed envelope as required by USCIS.

Fees & Insurance

Immigration medical exams are not covered by insurance and are provided on a self-pay basis.
